ACLS New Provider (two-day)
For new providers or to review material
This two-day ACLS course is designed for health care professionals whose occupation requires proficiency in ACLS skills. It is appropriate for providers with some knowledge of cardiac rhythms and pharmacology but who have not taken ACLS education in the past, for those whose cards have expired, or who would like a review of the guidelines. This course includes skills testing and a written evaluation.
Precourse Preparation/Requirements
You should prepare for the course by doing the following:
- Review the course agenda.
- Review and understand the information in your ACLS Provider Manual.
- The resuscitation scenarios require BLS skills and knowledge are current with the latest (2015) AHA Guidelines. Competency testing for one- & two-rescuer adult CPR, mouth-to-mask, bag-mask and AED skills will take place at the beginning of the ACLS Provider Course. Participants are expected to come into the course proficient in these skills .
- Review, understand, and complete the ECG and Pharmacology Precourse Self-Assessment. This class will not teach reading or interpretation of ECGs nor basic pharmacology.
- Evidence of Precourse Self-Assessment completion with a minimum score of 70% is required to participate in the course. A certificate may be printed and presented at the course or screen shots are also accepted.

Please Note: ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment with a minimum score of 70% AND ACLS Precourse Work certificate must be emailed by the deadline prior to the course in order to participate. No Exceptions. Education Credit: 8 CEUs

- 8:00 a.m. –7:00 p.m. (Day One)
- 10:00 a.m. –2:30 p.m. (Day Two)
ACLS evening New Provider courses will be offered at:
- 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Day One)
- 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Day Two)
NOTE: PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE AN ASSIGNED THREE-HOUR TIMESLOT ON DAY ONE AND ANOTHER TWO-HOUR ASSINGED TIMESLOT ON DAY 2.
Provider cards and contact hour certificates will be issued upon successful completion of course.
